Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (like Tabasco) Adjust based on desired spice level.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Freshly squeezed is best.
Seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon capers, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper To taste.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Gather all your ingredients on the counter for a smoother process.
  2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add 1 cup of mayonnaise.
  3. Stir in 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard to the mayonnaise.
  4. Mix in 1 tablespoon of prepared horseradish.
  5. Pour in 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Add 1 tablespoon of your favorite hot sauce.
  7. Squeeze in 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice.
  8. Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon each of garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  9. If desired, add 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, adjusting to taste.
  10. Finely chop 1 tablespoon of capers and mix them into the sauce.
  11. Chop 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley and fold it into the mixture.
  12. Add salt and pepper to taste, adjusting as needed.
  13. Whisk or use a spatula to combine all ingredients until smooth.
  14. Taste and adjust seasonings, adding more lemon juice or hot sauce if desired.
  15. Transfer the remoulade to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  16. After chilling, stir the sauce well before serving.

Notes

Store the remoulade in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Stir well before serving after storage. Do not freeze mayonnaise-based sauces as freezing breaks the creamy texture.
