Preparation
- Gather all your ingredients on the counter for a smoother process.
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add 1 cup of mayonnaise.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard to the mayonnaise.
- Mix in 1 tablespoon of prepared horseradish.
- Pour in 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce.
- Add 1 tablespoon of your favorite hot sauce.
- Squeeze in 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice.
- Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon each of garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
- If desired, add 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, adjusting to taste.
- Finely chop 1 tablespoon of capers and mix them into the sauce.
- Chop 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley and fold it into the mixture.
- Add salt and pepper to taste, adjusting as needed.
- Whisk or use a spatula to combine all ingredients until smooth.
- Taste and adjust seasonings, adding more lemon juice or hot sauce if desired.
- Transfer the remoulade to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- After chilling, stir the sauce well before serving.
Notes
Store the remoulade in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Stir well before serving after storage. Do not freeze mayonnaise-based sauces as freezing breaks the creamy texture.
