Preparation
- Chill your martini glass by filling it with ice water and setting it aside.
- In a cocktail shaker or mixing glass, add several ice cubes until it is about halfway full.
- Pour 60ml of vodka into the shaker or mixing glass.
- Add 10ml of dry vermouth into the mixture.
- If you prefer a stirred martini, gently stir the mixture for about 30 seconds. If you like it shaken, shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
- Empty the ice water from your martini glass.
- Use the cocktail strainer to pour the mixture into the chilled martini glass.
- Garnish your Vodka Martini with an olive or a twist of lemon peel.
Notes
Serve immediately after making it, and keep it chilled. Extra olives or lemon twists can be offered on the side for customization. Vodka Martinis should be enjoyed fresh and not stored or frozen.
