Preparation
- Put 2 cups frozen strawberries into the blender.
- Add 1/2 cup fresh strawberries for texture and color.
- Pour in 1/2 cup lime juice for bright flavor.
- Add 1/2 cup maple syrup or your sweetener of choice. Use less syrup for lower sugar.
- If you like a mocktail feel, add 60 millilitres non-alcoholic rum or a couple of drops of bitters. This is optional.
- Blend on high until smooth. Stop and scrape down the sides if needed.
- Test the consistency. If it is too thick, add 1/4 cup water and blend again.
- Taste and adjust: add more sweetener or more lime juice to suit your taste.
- Blend again until you reach the right flavor and texture.
- Pour into glasses and garnish with fresh strawberries and a lime wedge.
Notes
Serve chilled in small glasses to help with portion control. Pair with a healthy snack like Greek yogurt or a hard-boiled egg for a balanced light meal. You can also make this drink diabetic-friendly by using a low-calorie sweetener.
