- Warm the milk and cream in a small saucepan over low heat until steamy, not boiling.
- Whisk in maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, pepper, and salt.
- Simmer very gently for 2 to 3 minutes, whisking often so the spices infuse without scalding.
- Remove from heat. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice. Strain through a fine sieve if desired.
- Cool to room temperature, then pour into a clean jar and refrigerate.
Notes
This creamer can be customized by making it dairy-free, adjusting sweeteners, and tweaking spices. It stores well in an airtight jar for about one week.
