Preparation
- Make fresh espresso and let it cool slightly. Strong cold brew or chilled espresso works too.
- If using protein powder, mix one scoop with 1 to 1.5 oz of warm water or unsweetened milk alternative until smooth. Let cool.
- Fill cocktail shaker half full with ice. Add vodka, espresso, coffee liqueur, toasted marshmallow syrup, vanilla syrup, and protein mix (if using).
- For a foamy top, add egg white or aquafaba. Do a dry shake first for 10 seconds, then add ice and shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds. If not using egg white, shake with ice for 20 seconds.
- Strain into a chilled martini or coupe glass using a fine mesh strainer.
- Toast a marshmallow on a skewer with a kitchen torch until golden brown, or use broiler/air fryer. Garnish the drink with the toasted marshmallow.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For a lower calorie version, use sugar-free syrups and reduce vodka. Serve with balanced snacks to make it part of a light meal.
