Dough Ingredients
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar Can be reduced for a lighter option.
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk Heated with butter.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Melted.
  • 3 large eggs Two for the dough and one for the wash.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup dried fruits For decoration.
For Egg Wash
  • 1 large egg

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small saucepan, heat the milk with the butter until melted. Let it cool slightly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Add the milk mixture, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  6. After rising, shape the dough into a ring and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Insert dried fruits into the dough as desired.
  8. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Brush the top of the dough with an egg wash.
  11. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Let cool before serving.

Notes

Store cooled cake at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Portion for easy meal prep.
