  • 3 medium strawberries Hull and chop into small pieces
  • 4-6 leaves fresh basil
Liquids and Sweeteners
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice Freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon sweetener of choice Use a no-calorie sweetener for a diabetic-friendly option
  • 1 cup sparkling water Chilled

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash strawberries and basil. Hull and chop the strawberries into small pieces.
  2. Place the strawberries, basil leaves, lime juice, and sweetener in a sturdy glass or jar.
  3. Muddle the strawberries, basil, lime, and sweetener in glass for about 1 minute. Press until juices release but not fully liquid.
  4. Top with sparkling water and stir gently to combine.
  5. Add ice and garnish with a basil leaf or a strawberry slice.

Notes

This mocktail is best made and served fresh. Store the muddled fruit mix in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours without adding sparkling water.
