  • 1 piece firm ripe California avocado (chopped)
  • 1/2 small red onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 piece jalapeno pepper (seeds removed and finely chopped)
  • 1/2 piece lime (juice from half) Use the other half if needed
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt Plus more to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Hull and chop the strawberries. Chop the avocado. Finely dice the red onion. Remove the seeds from the jalapeno and chop it finely.
Mixing
  1. In a mixing bowl, gently toss together all the chopped ingredients: strawberries, avocado, red onion, jalapeno, lime juice, and salt.
Taste and Adjust
  1. Taste your salsa and adjust by adding more lime juice or salt to suit your preferences.

Notes

This salsa is best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 days. Adding extra lime juice helps slow down browning.
