Ingredients
  

Main ingredients
  • 140 g strawberries Fresh strawberries, hulled and halved.
  • 200 g watermelon Seedless watermelon, rind removed and cut into pieces.
Optional ingredients
  • as needed none ice For serving cold.
  • optional none banana For added creaminess and sweetness.
  • optional none coconut water Substitute for normal water for a tropical twist.
  • optional none spinach A handful for added nutrition.
  • optional none other fruits like mango or pineapple For flavor variations.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash the strawberries, remove the green tops, and cut them in half.
  2. Remove the rind from the watermelon and cut it into small pieces.
Blending
  1. Place the strawberries and watermelon in the blender.
  2. Blitz until smooth, which usually takes about 30 seconds.
  3. Check the texture; if you want it thinner, add a little water and blend again.
Serving
  1. Pour into one large glass or two small glasses.
  2. Serve cold. Add ice if desired, and consider topping with fresh fruit or a mint leaf.

Notes

The smoothie can be served as a breakfast drink, a snack, or a refreshing treat on a hot day. Leftover smoothie can be stored in the fridge for a day or frozen in ice cube trays for future use.
