Ingredients
  

For the Latte
  • 6 ounces boiling water
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons instant espresso powder Adjust based on desired strength
  • ½ cup milk Can substitute with dairy-free milk
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ tablespoon light brown sugar Can substitute with honey or maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • a pinch ground nutmeg
  • to taste whipped cream and ground cinnamon For garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Stir the instant espresso powder into the hot boiling water until dissolved. Set aside.
  2. In a glass measuring cup, combine milk, ground cinnamon, light brown sugar, pure vanilla extract, and a pinch of ground nutmeg. Whisk until thoroughly combined.
Cooking
  1. Microwave the milk mixture for 1 minute and 30 seconds, watching to prevent overflow.
  2. Remove and stir the milk mixture, then microwave for an additional 30 seconds, or until it froths up.
  3. While stirring the espresso, slowly pour in the milk mixture until well combined.
Serving
  1. Top the drink with whipped cream and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh, can prepare espresso and milk mixture ahead. Reheat before serving. Do not freeze.
