Method
Mixing the Dough
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.
- Add sour cream, milk, and vanilla to the egg mixture and combine.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
Cutting and Frying
- Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick and cut doughnuts using a doughnut cutter.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or deep pan to 375°F (190°C).
- Fry doughnuts for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
Making the Glaze
- In a bowl, mix powdered sugar with sour cream and desired flavoring.
- Dip warm doughnuts in glaze and let set before serving.
