  • 1 cup granulated sugar Use quality sugar for best flavor.
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 sticks cinnamon Use fresh cinnamon sticks for optimal flavor.
  • ΒΌ tsp cinnamon extract For an extra boost of cinnamon flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Add the sugar, water, and cinnamon sticks to a small saucepan.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring gently to dissolve the sugar completely.
  3. Once simmering, reduce the heat slightly and let it simmer for about 5 minutes to infuse the cinnamon flavor.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the cinnamon extract.
  5. Let the syrup sit for 15 minutes to meld the flavors.
  6. Strain out the cinnamon sticks and transfer the syrup into a clean bottle or jar.

Notes

Store in the refrigerator for up to 14 days. Adjust sweetness to your taste. Check for spoilage before use.
