Preparation
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix the durum flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
- Meanwhile, mix the cream cheese, Parmesan, roasted garlic, and herbs de Provence in a bowl.
Baking
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut it into circles.
- Layer the filling in between the circles and stack them. Cut them into a spiral shape to create the sunburst effect.
- Brush the top with olive oil.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Store the bread in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze slices for up to 2 months. Reheat slices at 350°F (175°C) for 5-10 minutes.
