- In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients: shredded cabbage, diced green pepper, diced celery, sugar, vinegar, celery seed, salt, and pepper.
- Toss well to ensure all the ingredients are coated in the vinegar and sugar mixture.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
Store pickled cabbage in an airtight container; it will last about a week in the refrigerator. The flavors will improve over time. Do not freeze as texture will become mushy.
