Preparation
  1. In a small saucepan, whisk together the water and granulated sugar.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium-low heat and stir gently.
  3. Heat until the sugar completely dissolves, taking just a few minutes.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat once the mixture is clear.
  5. Whisk in the peppermint extract for flavor.
  6. Allow the mixture to cool at room temperature for about 15 minutes.
  7. Transfer the syrup to a clean syrup bottle or jar for storage.

Notes

Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Label jars with the creation date for easy identification. Adjust sugar for sweetness and experiment with different flavor variations.
