Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1.5 cups milk (or plant-based milk) Use your choice of dairy or plant-based milk.
  • 1 cup mixed dried fruit Can include apricots, raisins, and figs.
  • 1 cup brewed tea Choose your favorite tea.
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup Optional for sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds Optional for added nutrition.
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Fresh fruit and nuts for topping Optional, for added texture.

Method

Preparation
  1. Brew your chosen tea and let it steep according to package instructions. Set aside to cool.
  2. In a small bowl, place mixed dried fruit and pour the cooled tea over until fully submerged. Soak for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
Mixing and Assembling
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, milk, honey or maple syrup, chia seeds, and salt. Stir well.
  2. Once the dried fruit has soaked, drain it while reserving a bit of the tea. Add drained fruit to the oat mixture and stir to combine. Adjust consistency with reserved tea if needed.
  3. Divide mixture into jars or containers and cover.
Chilling
  1. Refrigerate overnight to allow oats to absorb the liquid and soften.
  2. In the morning, serve cold directly from the jar or in a bowl. Add additional fresh fruit, nuts, or preferred toppings.

Notes

Store leftover oats in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. You can freeze them but avoid adding fresh toppings until ready to eat.
