- In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, and salt.
- Mix in the sourdough starter, water, and honey/sugar until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Incorporate the nuts and dried fruit until evenly distributed.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 2 hours or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover and let rise for another 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the bread for 28 to 40 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Allow to cool before slicing.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or slice and freeze for longer storage. Top with nut butter, Greek yogurt, or fresh fruits for added nutrition.
