Preparation
- Mix your dry spices with the coffee grounds in a small bowl to help the flavors bloom evenly.
- Heat the water until just shy of boiling. Optionally, simmer the spices in the water for 30 to 60 seconds before adding coffee.
Brewing
- Brew using a French press, pour-over, or stovetop method. Strain after 3 to 4 minutes for a balanced cup.
- Sweeten lightly to taste with honey, sugar, or date syrup. Add a splash of milk if desired.
- Taste and adjust the spice as needed by adding a tiny pinch more of cinnamon or cardamom.
Notes
For iced versions, brew strong and cool down with coffee ice cubes. Store a small jar of the spice mix for a quick morning routine.
