  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Reduce to 1 teaspoon for a lighter option.
Meat Topping Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef or lamb Use lean meat for a healthier option.
  • 1 number onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons harissa Adjust amount based on spice preference.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Method
 

Preparation of Dough
  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
  2. Add warm water and olive oil. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
  3. Let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Cooking the Meat
  1. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook beef or lamb with onions until browned.
  3. Stir in harissa, salt, and pepper.
Shaping and Baking
  1. Divide dough into 15 small balls.
  2. Roll each ball into a circle about 6 inches in diameter.
  3. Spread the meat mixture evenly over each circle.
  4. Place shaped flatbreads on a baking sheet and bake for 18-20 minutes or until edges are golden.
  5. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.
