  • 2 cups chopped mangos (about 2 large mangoes) Choose ripe mangoes for the best flavor.
  • 6 cups water
  • 1/2 cup white sugar Can be adjusted based on sweetness preference.
  • 1/2 lime (optional) Adds a fresh citrus note.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Peel the mangos and cut into large chunks. Optionally reserve a few slices of mango for garnish.
  2. In a blender, add the mango chunks, 3 cups of water, lime juice (if using), and half the sugar.
  3. Blend at high speed until smooth.
  4. Transfer the juice into a jar and mix in the remaining 2 cups of water, sugar, and additional lime juice to taste.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
  6. Fill a glass with ice, pour in the mango agua fresca, garnish with mango chunks or lime slices, and enjoy!

Notes

Store in a covered pitcher or jar in the fridge for 3 to 4 days. It may settle, so stir or shake before serving. To freeze, pour into ice cube trays for long-term storage.
