  • 1.25 cup granulated sugar Use good quality sugar for the best flavor.
  • 1.25 cup water
  • 1 cup chopped macadamia nuts Salted or unsalted both work well.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small saucepan, combine granulated sugar, water, and chopped macadamia nuts. Stir gently to mix.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, avoiding boiling.
  3. Once simmering, let it cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and strain the nuts from the syrup using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth.
  5. Allow the syrup to cool at room temperature for approximately 15 minutes.
  6. Transfer the cooled syrup into a storage container.

Notes

Store your homemade macadamia nut syrup in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. For longer storage, consider freezing in smaller containers.
