  • 1 cup fresh lemon or lime juice (about 4 large lemons or 8 to 10 large limes) Freshly squeezed for best flavor.
  • 1 cup simple syrup Can be adjusted to taste.
  • 4 cups cold water Adjust based on desired strength of lemonade.
  • Ice for serving Use as much as needed for desired chill.

Preparation
  1. Using a lemon or lime squeezer, juice the lemons or limes until you reach one cup.
  2. In a large pitcher, add the lemon or lime juice, the simple syrup, and water.
  3. Mix well and enjoy over a glass filled with ice.

Notes

Lemonade is best served ice-cold. Garnish each glass with a slice of lemon or mint leaves for added flavor. Homemade lemonade can last in the refrigerator for about 5 to 7 days in an airtight container. Freezing lemonade in ice cube trays is another option for keeping drinks cool.
