Ingredients
  

Coffee Base
  • 8-10 ounces Freshly brewed coffee, medium or dark roast Choose a roast that you enjoy.
Spices
  • 1 teaspoon Cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon Use a cinnamon variety you prefer, like Ceylon or Cassia.
  • 1 tiny pinch Cayenne pepper Optional, start small.
  • 1 small pinch Sea salt To round out the flavors.
Sweetener and Fats
  • 1 teaspoon Honey or maple syrup Or a few drops of your favorite sweetener.
  • 1 teaspoon MCT oil or melted coconut oil MCT oil blends easily and stays light.
  • 1-2 tablespoons Warm milk or non-dairy milk Optional but nice for creaminess.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Brew your coffee the way you like it, making it slightly stronger for this cup.
  2. In a mug, whisk together cocoa, cinnamon, cayenne, and a spoonful of hot coffee to form a smooth paste.
  3. Stir in honey and a pinch of salt until dissolved.
  4. Pour in the rest of the hot coffee, then add MCT oil and milk. Stir briskly or use a small frother.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice as necessary. Sip while warm.

Notes

For quick mornings, pre-mix the spices and cocoa in a tiny jar for easy access. Adjust flavors to fit your mood and preferences.
