Ingredients

Cocktail Ingredients
  • 1 cup fresh honeydew chunks (about 150 g)
  • 2 oz tequila blanco Naturally gluten free.
  • ¾ oz fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz agave syrup or simple syrup (or sugar-free substitute) For a low-calorie version, replace agave with erythritol syrup or liquid stevia blend.
  • 1 each egg white (or 2 tbsp aquafaba for vegan) Use pasteurized egg whites for safety.
  • 1 each lime wheel or honeydew ball for garnish
  • 1 pinch of salt (optional) Helps round flavors.

Method

Preparation
  1. Cut and chill the honeydew. Remove rind and seeds, then chop into chunks.
  2. Puree the honeydew in a blender until smooth. If you want a lighter texture, strain the puree through a fine mesh strainer.
Mixing the Cocktail
  1. Add honeydew puree, tequila, lime juice, syrup, and egg white (or aquafaba) to a shaker.
  2. Dry shake hard for 15–20 seconds (shake without ice) to build foam.
  3. Add ice to the shaker and shake again for 15–20 seconds to chill and dilute.
  4. Double strain into a chilled coupe or rocks glass over fresh ice.
  5. Garnish with a lime wheel or honeydew ball. Add a tiny sprinkle of salt if desired.

Notes

Serve chilled in a coupe or over one large ice cube in a rocks glass. Keep portions small: 4–6 ounces per serving. For portion control, measure the tequila to 1.5–2 oz per drink. Use jigger for measuring. Limit to one cocktail if following a low calorie or weight loss plan.
