Ingredients

For the Latte Base
  • 3/4 cup milk of choice (I used whole milk) Any type of milk can be used.
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup Adjust for sweetness preference.
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin puree Use pure pumpkin, not pie filling.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice Can substitute with nutmeg or cinnamon for variation.
  • 2 oz espresso (or 8 oz brewed coffee) Espresso for stronger flavor, brewed coffee for milder.
For Garnish (optional)
  • to taste whipped cream
  • to taste cinnamon sugar

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small saucepan, whisk together the milk, maple syrup, pumpkin puree, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice to form the base of your latte.
  2. Set the saucepan over medium-low heat and warm the mixture until it starts to steam and foam. Be careful not to let it boil.
  3. Once heated, remove the saucepan from the heat. Use a milk frother or a whisk to froth the mixture until it becomes light and airy.
  4. While the milk mixture is frothing, brew your espresso or coffee.
  5. Pour the brewed coffee into a mug and top it with the frothed pumpkin milk mixture, including the foam for a satisfying drink.
  6. If desired, add a dollop of whipped cream on top and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  7. Your homemade pumpkin spice latte is ready to drink. Sip slowly and enjoy the delightful flavors.

Notes

For best flavor, prepare this drink fresh each time. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a couple of days.
