Preparation
- Combine the pickle slices and their liquid in a large mixing bowl.
- Stir in the white sugar until it's evenly distributed.
- Add the peeled garlic cloves, hot pepper sauce, and red pepper flakes to the mixture.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture, stirring every few hours for about one day until the sugar has dissolved.
- Transfer the mixture back to the original pickle jar and seal tightly.
- Refrigerate the pickles for at least one day before serving.
Notes
Store in a tightly sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 weeks. For a healthier version, use a sugar substitute.
