  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup local honey infused with ginger
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix well to ensure the yeast is evenly distributed.
  2. In another bowl, mix the warmed milk, honey infused with ginger, and eggs. Whisk them until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined, then continue mixing until the dough comes together.
  4. Gradually add the softened butter. Knead the dough on a floured surface until it’s smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.
  5. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 2 hours or until it has doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough gently to release some air, then shape it into a loaf or rolls as desired.
  7. Place the shaped dough in a greased baking pan. Let it rise again for about 1 hour.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bake the brioche for 25 minutes to an hour, or until it is golden brown on top.
  3. Allow it to cool completely before slicing.
Serving Suggestions
  1. Serve toasted with cultured butter or almond butter for added protein and healthy fats. Pair with fresh fruits for added nutrients.

Notes

This brioche is versatile; for a healthier version, substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour. You can also store it in an airtight container for 2-3 days at room temperature or freeze individual slices for longer storage.
