Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix well to ensure the yeast is evenly distributed.
- In another bowl, mix the warmed milk, honey infused with ginger, and eggs. Whisk them until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined, then continue mixing until the dough comes together.
- Gradually add the softened butter. Knead the dough on a floured surface until it’s smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.
- Cover the bowl with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 2 hours or until it has doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough gently to release some air, then shape it into a loaf or rolls as desired.
- Place the shaped dough in a greased baking pan. Let it rise again for about 1 hour.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the brioche for 25 minutes to an hour, or until it is golden brown on top.
- Allow it to cool completely before slicing.
Serving Suggestions
- Serve toasted with cultured butter or almond butter for added protein and healthy fats. Pair with fresh fruits for added nutrients.
Notes
This brioche is versatile; for a healthier version, substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour. You can also store it in an airtight container for 2-3 days at room temperature or freeze individual slices for longer storage.
