Ingredients
  

Fruits and Toppings
  • 1 green apple 1 green apple, cut into bite size pieces with the skin on Choose a fresh, ripe apple for best flavor.
  • 1 red apple 1 red apple, cut into bite size pieces with the skin on Skin should remain on for texture and color.
  • 1 cup 1 cup red grapes, halved long ways
  • 1 cup 1 cup green grapes, halved long ways
  • 3 yellow bananas 3 yellow bananas, ripe but firm, sliced Slice just before serving to prevent browning.
  • 2 cups 2 cups mini marshmallows Use colorful mini marshmallows for a fun look.
Dressing and Flavoring
  • 3 tablespoons 3 tablespoons lemon juice Prevents apples and bananas from browning.
  • 8 ounces 8 ounce Cool Whip, thawed Can substitute with plain yogurt for a healthier option.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cut the red and green grapes and add them to a large salad bowl.
  2. Cut the red and green apples into bite-sized pieces (discard seeds and core) and toss with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Add to the salad bowl.
  3. Peel and slice the bananas. Toss with enough lemon juice to fully coat both sides of each slice. Add the bananas to the salad bowl.
  4. Add in the mini marshmallows and toss the salad to combine.
  5. Add the thawed Cool Whip to the bowl and toss all to combine gently.

Notes

Serve Gigi's Famous Apple Salad cold for the best experience. Garnish with thin apple slices or grapes for a neat presentation. Best enjoyed the same day it is made.
