Main ingredients
  • 1 pound lean ground beef Could substitute with turkey or a plant-based option.
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon garlic salt Adjust to taste.
  • 2 cans (10.5 ounces each) beef consume
  • 2 cans (10.5 ounces each) French onion soup
  • ¾ cup water
  • 2 cups uncooked long grain white rice Do not use minute rice.
  • ¾ cup butter (1½ sticks), sliced.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F and spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with a sprinkle of garlic salt until fully cooked. Break it up into even crumbles.
Assembly
  1. In the prepared baking dish, mix the cooked beef and rice together.
  2. Pour in the beef consume, French onion soup, and water. Stir until well combined.
  3. Place sliced butter on top of the mixture.
  4. Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Finishing
  1. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes until hot and bubbly.
  2. Fluff the casserole with a fork before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days in the fridge or freeze for 2-3 months. To reheat, warm in the oven or microwave.
