Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Line the baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt the dark chocolate and unsalted butter together, either in the microwave or over a double boiler.
- Once smooth, stir in the granulated sugar until fully combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Sift in the all-purpose flour and salt, folding gently until no flour is visible.
- Fold in any optional additions like nuts or spices.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the edges are set but the center has a slight jiggle.
- Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then remove and let cool on a cooling rack.
- Once cooled completely, cut into squares and serve.
Notes
Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 to 5 days. Freeze individually wrapped brownies for up to 3 months.
