Method
 

Making the Dough
  1. In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together milk and egg.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  4. Roll dough out to about 1/4 inch thick and cut into pieces.
Frying
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Fry the dough pieces until golden brown on both sides, about 1-2 minutes per side.
  3. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
