Copycat Red Lobster Biscuits

Ingredients
  

Dry ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt divided
Wet ingredients
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter 1 1/2 sticks, divided
  • 1 cup whole milk
Add-ins
  • 8 ounces shredded mild cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small microwave-safe mixing bowl, add 1 stick (1/2 cup) of butter. Microwave for 30 seconds or until butter is melted. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Whisk until well combined.
  4. Add melted butter and milk to the dry ingredients and whisk just until the flour is all wet, do not over mix.
  5. Add shredded cheese and gently fold in with a spoon.
Baking
  1. Drop heaping spoonfuls of the mixture onto the lined baking sheet.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until biscuits are golden brown.
  3. Meanwhile, melt the remaining 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) of butter in a small mixing bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds or until melted, then stir in 1/4 teaspoon salt and parsley.
  4. Remove biscuits from oven and brush with the melted butter mixture. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

These biscuits are best served hot from the oven, brushed with garlic-parsley butter for maximum flavor. They are suitable for freezing and can be reheated.
