Making the Cinnamon Dolce Syrup
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1 cup of sugar, the whole vanilla bean (split it open), and 2 cinnamon sticks.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar fully dissolves.
- Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it cool. You may remove the cinnamon sticks and vanilla bean or leave them in for stronger flavor.
- Store the syrup in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
Preparing the Cinnamon Latte
- Brew ⅓ cup of espresso or strong coffee.
- In a small saucepan, heat ½ cup of milk over low heat, frothing it with a whisk or milk frother until creamy.
- In your favorite mug, combine the brewed espresso with ½ ounce of the cinnamon dolce syrup. Stir well.
- Slowly pour the frothed milk over the espresso mixture.
- Top with ¼ cup of whipped cream and a pinch of cinnamon if desired.
Notes
Serve hot and consider adding toppings like chocolate shavings or caramel sauce. Pairs well with a pastry.
