Preparation
- Add all the ingredients to a small saucepan.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- After 10 minutes, remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
- Strain out the cinnamon sticks using a fine mesh sieve or a strainer.
- Store the syrup in a glass jar or syrup bottle.
Notes
Adjust sweetness with more sugar if desired. Experiment with spices like nutmeg or vanilla extract. Store in a clean jar; lasts up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
