Ingredients
  

For the syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar Adjust according to sweetness preference.
  • ½ cup dark brown sugar Packed.
  • 1-2 sticks cinnamon sticks
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon extract Optional.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Add all the ingredients to a small saucepan.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. After 10 minutes, remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
  5. Strain out the cinnamon sticks using a fine mesh sieve or a strainer.
  6. Store the syrup in a glass jar or syrup bottle.

Notes

Adjust sweetness with more sugar if desired. Experiment with spices like nutmeg or vanilla extract. Store in a clean jar; lasts up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
