Ingredients
  

For the dough
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • for frying Oil
For coating
  • Cinnamon sugar For rolling the cooked churros

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt; bring to a boil.
  2. Stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Mix in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla until smooth.
Cooking
  1. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pipe the dough into 6-inch strips into the hot oil; fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. Drain on paper towels and roll in cinnamon sugar while still warm.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Churros are best served warm. Consider dipping them in a low-sugar chocolate sauce for a healthier option. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
