Ingredients
  

For the Coffee
  • 480 ml freshly brewed strong coffee or espresso Use extra grounds for a bolder flavor.
  • 120 ml whole milk or heavy cream Can be substituted with non-dairy options.
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar Adjust to taste.
Spices
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground ginger Optional.
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 60 ml Irish cream liqueur or bourbon Optional; adjust to taste.
Toppings
  • to taste whipped cream For topping.
  • to taste ground cinnamon For garnish.
  • to taste ground nutmeg For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Brew a strong pot of coffee or espresso using your preferred method.
  2. In a small saucepan, gently heat whole milk or cream over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
  3. Stir in brown sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and optional ground ginger. Whisk until sugar dissolves and spices mix well.
Combine and Serve
  1. Pour the brewed coffee into large cups or heatproof glasses.
  2. Add the hot spiced milk mixture and stir well to combine everything.
  3. Add vanilla extract and stir in Irish cream liqueur or bourbon if desired. Adjust sweetness or spices to taste.
  4. Top each coffee with a generous amount of whipped cream. Dust with extra ground cinnamon and nutmeg for a festive touch.

Notes

Best served fresh. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Whipped cream doesn’t reheat well, so make it fresh each time. Freezing is not recommended.
