- Begin by pouring the ground coffee into a large jar or container that has a tight-fitting lid.
- Take the cinnamon sticks and break them up a bit using your fingers.
- Place the broken cinnamon sticks along with the allspice berries, cloves, and black peppercorns into a mortar.
- Use a pestle to gently crush the spices, keeping the cinnamon in chunky pieces while the others should be less-than-whole.
- Add the crushed spices to the ground coffee in the jar.
- Put the lid on the jar and shake it well to combine the coffee and spices.
Notes
Store the blend in a cool, dry place in a tightly sealed jar. Freeze for long-term storage and thaw at room temperature before use. This blend can also be gifted in decorative jars.
