Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease your skillet with a bit of butter.
- In a small saucepan, melt the chopped dark chocolate and butter over low heat until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted chocolate mixture with the sugar and mix well.
- Beat the eggs in a separate bowl, then add them to the chocolate mixture, mixing until fully combined.
- In another bowl, mix the plain flour and salt together, then slowly add to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and gently fold in the sour cherries.
Baking
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared skillet and bake for about 25-30 minutes until edges are set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before cutting into pieces.
Notes
Serve warm with ice cream or dust with powdered sugar. Leftovers can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
