Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • ½ cup cilantro leaves, chopped small
  • ½ cup flat-leaf parsley leaves, chopped small
  • 1 small shallot, minced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • cup olive oil

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine all the chimichurri ingredients except for the olive oil.
  2. Stir the mixture to combine well.
  3. Slowly drizzle the olive oil into the mixture while stirring to blend all ingredients nicely.
  4. Serve immediately, or cover and store at room temperature for up to 24 hours before serving for enhanced flavor.

Notes

Chimichurri can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. Freezing in ice cubes allows for easy use later.
