Preparation
- Remove the stems from the chiles and chop them into 2 or 3 pieces each.
- Peel the garlic cloves and have them ready for blending.
Blending
- Combine all the chopped chiles, garlic, salt, and vinegar into a blender.
- Blend the ingredients for about 20 seconds.
- Remove ¼ cup of the puree and set it aside.
- Continue to blend the remaining mix until mostly smooth, about 45 seconds more.
- Pour the blended sauce into a container and stir in the reserved puree for a slightly chunkier texture.
Storage
- Seal the container and refrigerate. Your homemade chili garlic sauce can be stored for up to a month.
Notes
This sauce is great as a dip, marinade, or topping. Store in an airtight container for up to a month or freeze portions for later use.
