Chia Lime Refreshment

A light and refreshing drink made with chia seeds, lime juice, and water, perfect for hot days and healthy hydration.

Ingredients
  

For the drink
  • 3 Tbsp Chia seeds
  • 6 cups water Divided into warm and cold water
  • 5 large limes Juiced
  • 1/2 cup simple syrup or sugar Adjust according to taste
  • to taste ice For serving
  • to taste sliced limes For garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium jar, add the chia seeds and 1 cup of warm water. Close the lid and shake for at least 15 seconds.
  2. Refrigerate for at least one hour.
Mixing
  1. In a large pitcher, add the soaked chia seeds and just enough water to cover them. Mix with a fork to remove lumps.
  2. Add the remaining cold water and lime juice. Then stir in the simple syrup, tasting and adjusting sweetness as desired.
Serving
  1. Serve chilled in tall glasses filled with ice and garnished with sliced limes.

Notes

Store in a covered pitcher or jar in the fridge for 3–4 days. Stir in water if it thickens. Freezing is not recommended.
