Cooking the Sauce
- Melt butter and olive oil (if using) in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
- Stir in Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for another minute, stirring constantly.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in fresh parsley, lemon juice, black pepper, and salt.
- Simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Add more Cajun seasoning for extra spice, salt for more saltiness, or lemon juice for brightness.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately.
Notes
Store the sauce in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat gently on low heat to prevent butter from separating. For longer storage, freeze in an ice cube tray and use within 3 months.
