Preparation
- Pour the rum into a large jar or container.
- Add the split vanilla pod and frozen forest fruits to the rum.
- Sprinkle the caster sugar into the jar.
- Seal the jar tightly and shake gently to combine all the ingredients.
Infusion Process
- Place the jar in a cool, dark place and let it infuse for seven days.
- Shake it occasionally to mix the flavors.
Straining and Serving
- After seven days, strain the mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth to remove the solid ingredients.
- Serve the infused rum over ice or mix with mulled wine for extra flavor.
Notes
Best enjoyed chilled. Experiment with mixing it into cocktails or refreshing drinks. Can also be made a week in advance for events.
