Ingredients
  

For the Hot Chocolate
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 Tbsp cocoa powder (preferably Dutch-processed)
  • 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 4 ounces dark or semisweet chocolate bar, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 oz Baileys Irish cream
  • 1 oz vodka
Garnish Options

  • shaved chocolate For sprinkling on top

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, add whole milk, cocoa powder, and granulated sugar. Use a whisk to mix them well together.
  2. Place the saucepan on the stove over medium heat. Keep whisking sometimes until the cocoa powder and sugar dissolve and the milk gets warm.
  3. After the milk is warm, add the finely chopped dark or semisweet chocolate into the saucepan. Stir until the chocolate melts completely.
  4. Next, add the Baileys Irish Cream and vodka. Mix everything together until it is well combined.
  5. Once everything is smooth, remove the saucepan from heat.
  6. Divide the hot chocolate between two mugs.
  7. To finish, top each mug with whipped cream and sprinkle shaved chocolate over the top.

Notes

It is best to drink Boozy Baileys Hot Chocolate fresh. However, if you have leftovers, you can store it in the refrigerator for up to two days. Freezing is not recommended, as the cream may separate.
