Ingredients

Coffee Ingredients
  • 20 grams freshly ground medium roast coffee Use medium roast for a round, chocolatey flavor.
  • 300 grams hot water at about 200 F Aim for water near boiling.
Add-Ons
  • 3-4 tablespoons Milk of choice Oat for creaminess, whole milk for classic, almond for a lighter finish.
  • 1-2 teaspoons simple syrup or maple syrup Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 1 pinch cocoa powder or cinnamon Optional topping for added flavor.
  • as needed Ice cubes For the iced version.

Method

Brewing
  1. Grind the coffee using a medium grind, about the texture of sand.
  2. Add 40 grams of hot water to the grounds and let it sit for 30 to 40 seconds to bloom.
  3. Slowly add the remaining water over 2 to 3 minutes, ensuring a steady pour.
  4. Stir the brewed coffee gently and taste it. Adjust strength by adding hot water or modifying the coffee-to-water ratio in the future.
  5. Stir in your choice of milk and sweetener. Sprinkle with cocoa or cinnamon if desired.

Notes

For a rich body, use a 50/50 mix of milk and coffee for a latte-style drink. Use filtered water if tap water has an off taste. Preheat your mug to keep your coffee warm longer.
