  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blackberries Wash the blackberries if fresh.
  • 1 piece banana Peel and break into smaller pieces.
  • 1 cup yogurt (plain or flavored) Use dairy or non-dairy yogurt.
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy) Substitute with almond or oat milk for a dairy-free option.
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup Optional for added sweetness.
  • a handful pieces ice cubes Optional for a colder smoothie.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. If using fresh blackberries, wash them well. Peel the banana and break it into smaller pieces.
Blending
  1. Place the blackberries, banana, yogurt, and milk into the blender. If you want a sweeter smoothie, add honey or maple syrup.
  2. Turn on the blender and blend the ingredients until the mixture is smooth. If you like a colder smoothie, add a handful of ice cubes and blend again until smooth.
Serving
  1. Taste your smoothie. If you want it sweeter, add a little more honey or syrup and blend again.
  2. Pour the smoothie into a glass or cup. Enjoy it right away or take it with you on the go!

Notes

For serving, you can garnish with whole blackberries and enjoy it at breakfast or as a snack. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a day in an airtight container. You can also freeze the smoothie for 2 to 3 months.
