Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup Real California butter Use unsalted for more control over seasoning.
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh garlic
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme or sage Choose one or a mix of both herbs for flavor.
  • 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar Adjust according to taste preference.
  • 1 dash salt Add to taste.
  • 1 dash freshly ground pepper Add to taste.

Method

Preparation
  1. Melt the butter in a large heavy skillet over medium heat, ensuring the skillet is not too hot to avoid burning.
  2. When the butter begins to foam, cook and stir for 2 to 3 minutes until it turns golden brown and develops a nutty aroma. Swirl the pan several times to avoid scorching.
  3. Once perfectly browned, remove the pan from heat and stir in the herbs, garlic, and balsamic vinegar to lift the flavors of the sauce.

Notes

Brown butter sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or frozen for up to three months. Serve it over grilled salmon with quinoa and steamed asparagus for a balanced meal.
