  • 1 cup 100% apple juice Choose juice with no added sugars or preservatives.
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar Packed for best results.
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Add all the ingredients into a small saucepan.
  2. Use a whisk to combine everything thoroughly.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  4. Once it reaches a simmer, reduce the heat slightly and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat after 5 minutes.
  6. Allow the syrup to cool at room temperature for about 15 minutes.
  7. Transfer the syrup to a bottle or mason jar.

Notes

Store syrup in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days. Avoid any changes in color or smell before use.
